WuXi AppTec is aware that some job seekers have received false employment offers or recruitment emails from an individual or organization posing as WuXi AppTec. Individuals or organizations sending these false employment offers may request personal information or funds to further the recruitment process. Please be aware that WuXi AppTec will not request passport details, financial information, or money from job seekers.

One quick way to identify fraudulent job offers is to check the email address. Legitimate emails from WuXi AppTec employees end in “@wuxiapptec.com.” Some recent scams have come from email addresses that are similar (i.e., @wuxi-app-tec.com, etc.) or email addresses using public domain IDs (@gmail.com @yahoo.com, @aol.com, etc.). Be aware that sometimes fraudsters even use photographs and names of real people at companies and also create fake websites and marketing materials that look very similar to the company’s genuine website. WuXi AppTec takes action to shut these false addresses and websites down as soon as the Company is made aware of them, but often this is only after the scammers have contacted many job seekers.

WuXi AppTec is taking the necessary steps to investigate this matter further. If you feel that you have been a potential victim of an employment application scam, please contact the Internet Crimes Complaint Center at www.IC3.gov. The IC3 is an FBI entity that aggregates criminal events in order to analyze and prosecute numerous related scams.
