Responsibilities

Job Summary:

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Associate Director (AD) to lead our fast-growing bioanalysis platform. The AD will lead a team to achieve long-term research and business goals in a CRO setting. The position will independently design, execute, trouble shoot and deliver the projects with LCMS, including small molecules and biologics, as well as lipidomics, glycomics and proteomics.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides overall scientific and operational support for bioanalysis group.
  • Actively contributes and applies expertise and knowledge to collaborations with partners in the design and execution of related studies
  • Works with business management and development team for sponsor engagement and project proposal preparation.
  • Leads multiple ongoing projects to meet expected timelines.
  • Responsible for new capability implementation and team building.
  • Contributes to the overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goals
  • Communicates with clients for designing, analysis, reporting and recording activities.
  • Performs job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, WuXi AppTec Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Hands-on bench work when necessary.

 

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

Experience / Education

  • PhD 5+ years of experience in Proteomics, Mass Spectrometry, and/or related field.
  • Industry experience from CRO, biotech, and pharmaceutical is a plus; strong scientific knowledge and technical skills in the bioanalytic field, is desired.
  • Work on Holidays and weekends when necessary
  • Expert level skills in the following areas are required:
    • Solid understanding of qualitative and quantitative LCMS workflows in small molecule, lipidomics, glycomics and proteomics with associated sample preparation techniques
    • Solid competency in a broad range of LCMS instrumentation such as QQQ, QTOF and orbitrap and application solutions.
    • Experience with sample preparation from tissues, cells, and biofluids as needed to enable quantitative workflows for drug discovery programs.
    • Experience in PTM analysis (phosphorylation and ubiquitination) and targeted proteomics.
    • Experience with MaxQuant, Skyline and Tracefinder, Protein Pilot, Proteome Discoverer.
    • Must be able to maintain UPLC/Mass spec for routine operations.
    • Prior in vitro assays and in vivo pharmacology experience is a big plus.

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to give and receive feedback, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently as required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Well organized and adaptable to changes.
  • Computer skills: knowledge of internet research, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Ability to learn instrument and data analysis software.

 Physical Requirements:

·       Must be able to work in an office environment with minimal noise conditions

 

·       Must be able to work in a lab setting with exposure to Animals/biohazards /Chemicals (List

specific Chemicals) 

 

·       Must not have animal allergies to applicable species in this facility.

 

·       Must be able to work in environment with variable noise levels.

 

·       Ability to stand/Sit/walk for long periods of time.

 

·       Ability to Lift 10 lbs routinely.

 

·       Ability to push/pull 10 lbs. routinely/often/occasionally

 

·       Clarity of vision.

 

·       Ability to identify and distinguish colors.

 

·       Must be able to perform activities with repetitive motions.

 

·       Ability to climb ladders/stairs/scaffolding.

 

·       Ability to work in variable temperatures high to freezing.

 

 

·       Inside/outside working conditions.

   

Anticipated base pay range: $121,924 to $170,462
