The Associate Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting AD Operations team in contributing to the achievement of company and departmental goals and objectives. Supports material / reagent inventory management, equipment installation and maintenance, and monitoring of lab equipment and systems. Interacts with AD area SMEs to keep informed of laboratory activities and needs.

Responsibilities

  • Interacts with Procurement to ensure material / reagent orders are placed and delivered on time to appropriate location and storage condition(s)
  • Supports equipment repair, scheduled maintenance and calibration of equipment as needed
  • Responsible for REES/ELPRO monitoring to support AD laboratories
  • Interacts with Metrology and Facilities as needed to support resolution of equipment failure, OOS, and to support routine maintenance
  • Completes lab safety inspections according to quarterly EHS schedule
  • Communicates status of operations, safety, and maintenance problems, in a timely manner to Area Management
  • Interacts with Quality Assurance and Procurement to ensure materials / reagents are on-boarded according to current effective procedures
  • Interacts with Supplier Quality to ensure suppliers are approved as needed
  • Interacts with lab aides to ensure cleaning is completed appropriately, and all needed materials are available
  • Generate and distribute monthly cleaning logs for all relevant equipment; gather, route for approval, and archive completed logs as required
  • Participates in internal meetings as appropriate
  • Follows organizational systems, policies, procedures, and standards

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma with 3 – 5 years’ experience in a GMP environment
  • Bachelors’ degree preferred with 1 year experience in a GMP environment

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • cGMP experience required
  • Effective multi-tasking skills and time management required
  • Previous experience with laboratory equipment installation / maintenance
    preferred
  • Ability to use judgment as dictated by complexity of situations
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and demonstrated instructions
  • Ability to clearly express and exchange ideas by means of detailed verbal and
    written communication
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and exhibit effective interpersonal
    skills
  • Ability to work under supervision and to handle problems of a simple nature
  • Proficient in Oral & Written communication skills
  • Proven troubleshooting skills highly desirable
  • Need to be able to read, write and understand English
