Overview

HD Biosciences, Inc. (San Diego), a WuXi AppTec Company, is expanding its Biomarker analysis department. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Associate II to help advance HD Biosciences’ Discovery Biomarker team to complete client-based projects and experiments. Responsibilities include

Responsibilities

● Work as a member of an integrated project team in a highly collaborative work environment.
● Run ligand-binding assays including ELISA and MSD.
● Perform protein detection assays such as Western Blot and/or JESS.
● Perform nucleic acid extractions following vendor kits, RNA extraction experience preferred.
● Maintain multiple primary cultures and cell lines.
● Perform flow cytometry experiments with minimal supervision.
● Contribute to assay development involving analysis of ex-vivo samples, including but not limited to animal whole blood, serum, plasma, tissue, and tumors.
● Contribute to data analysis and data package preparation for clients
● Willing to learn and operate high throughput automated systems, including liquid handlers and plate-readers
● Day-to-day coordination of laboratory reagents and maintenance of key equipment.
● Document all scientific work in electronic lab notebooks; follow established HD Biosciences standard operating procedures on data documentation and notebooks.
● Works on routine assignments per written procedures, where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.
● Receive minimal instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments.
● Work under close supervision from supervisor or senior personnel.
● Ability to work in a team environment and independently as required
● May be required to work holidays and weekends
● Contributes to the overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goals
● Perform job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, and WuXi AppTec Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
● Other duties as assigned
● May be required to assist in other departments

Qualifications

● 2-3 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
● Bachelors in Life Sciences or related field.

 

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
● Proficient in Oral & Written communication skills
● Need to be able to read, write and understand English
● Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
● Demonstrate a high level of initiative in troubleshooting experiments and performing data analysis.
● Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook)
