The Sample Coordinator will process incoming samples, assist with administrative duties relating to Central Sample Repository functions.
Choice of schedule: Tueshday – Saturday (3:00-11:30PM ) or Wednesday – Saturday (1:00 - 11:30PM) possible working holidays.
Essential Job Functions:
• Maintain sample integrity through logging and storage of Client samples for testing
• Initiate Sample Chain of Custody and ensuring all appropriate documentation is procured prior to release of samples to the Labs
• Communicate with Project Managers and Clients regarding missing information or other critical sample observations or issues with log in that need to be resolved with the client
• Coordinate shipment of samples with Logistics Department
• Maintain accurate inventory of samples in Central Sample Repository
• Disposal of samples in Central Sample Repository
• Help manage the Rees phone for department
• Work in team environment and independently as required
• May be required to work Overtime, and on Holidays and weekends
• Thorough understanding of GXP
• Maintain lab organization and cleanliness
• Other duties as assigned
Experience / Education
• 1+ years of relevant experience or equivalent (LIMS system experience preferred)
• High School Diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred
• Valid drivers license
• Experience driving large passenger vans a plus
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
• Proficient with computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, LIMS (preferred)
• Well organized, detail-oriented, and able to communicate in a professional manner
Physical Requirements:
• Strong time management, oral & written communication skills
• Need to be able to read, write, speak and understand English Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to work in an office environment with minimal noise conditions.
• Must be able to work in Lab setting with Biohazards /various Chemicals
