Overview

WuXi AppTec is a leading global pharmaceutical, medical device open-access capability and technology platform company with global operations. We have an opening in our Sterility Department for an Associate Lab Aide.  

 

Position Details:

  • Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Saturday shift could start earlier)
  • Hours: Full-Time, 40 per week 
  • Pay: $17/hr to start with opportunity for growth

Responsibilities

Perform laboratory functions that assist laboratory personnel with testing.  Perform job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, and WuXi AppTec Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Prep carts & make solutions
  • Performs QA / QC checklist tasks
  • Maintain supply inventory
  • Performs incubator checks
  • Performs Level 1 Job functions.
  • Works on routine assignments per written procedures, where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required
  • Normally receives minimal instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments
  • Works under close supervision from supervisor or senior personnel
  • Contributes to the overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goals
  • Perform job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, and WuXi AppTec Policies and Standard Operating Procedures
  • May be required to assist in other departments
  • Maybe required to work holidays and weekends
  • Maybe required to work overtime
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Experience / Education   

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently as required
  • Proficient in Oral & Written communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Need to be able to read, write and understand English
  • Ability to safely handle biohazard and chemical materials according to standard practices

Physical Requirements:

  • Perform activities that require repetitive motions.
  • Clarity of vision – ability to distinguish colors
  • Must be able to work in a controlled lab setting where biohazards and chemicals are present
  • Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (e.g. gloves, lab coat, safety eyewear, mask)
  • Must be able to work in environment with variable noise levels
  • Ability to stand / sit / walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to crouch, bend, twist, and reach
  • Ability to lift / push / pull 40 lbs. routinely
  • Must be able to work in small, confined spaces

Shift  - Tuesday - Saturday
