Business Development Manager, Oligo Peptide Discovery (San Diego, CA) – Act as subject expert in biochemistry, uncover, develop, and grow contract research and discovery biochemistry/chemistry projects and project business opportunities with prospective and existing clients in oligonucleotides and peptides new drug development by communicating with clients’ senior scientists, chemists, and subject matter experts; Analyze and develop the company’s Oligo/Peptide research services, applying Peptide chemistry, peptide NMR structure elucidation, medicinal chemistry research; Analyze the company’s technical capacity, laboratory facility, and equipment to develop business strategies and tactics to promote the company’s chemical and biochemical platforms and analytical services to biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies and research institutions in the targeted region assigned; Research current pharmaceutical and medical industry’s competitive services, products, and technologies on the market, and provide input on research, development and manufacturing of Oligo peptide products, services, and business development strategies applying pharmaceutical drug discovery, oligonucleotide chemistry, bioconjugation chemistry; Review, analyze, and manage existing institutional customers and cross promotion of new chemical and biochemical analysis services into existing accounts in project management; Attend trade shows and professional pharmaceutical conferences to follow up with new trend in biochemical research and development; Follow and analyze client’s drug development progress, coordinate with in-house discovery, protein science, CMC development and manufacturing, and project management teams to address client requests, provide pharmaceutical and regulatory affairs guidance, troubleshoot and respond to inquiries; Provide timely update of CRM and monitoring of KPIs.

Must have a Ph.D in Biochemistry or Chemistry. As alternative, Master degree plus 2 years experience in job offered is acceptable. Require skills and knowledge in Peptide chemistry, peptide NMR structure elucidation, medicinal chemistry research, pharmaceutical drug discovery, oligonucleotide chemistry, bioconjugation chemistry. Require 40% domestic and international travel. Allow telecommuting.
