Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and results oriented Inside Sales/Lead Generation Specialist to join our team supporting North American sales and marketing for WuXi AppTec’s STA (small molecule) and TIDES (oligonucleotide and peptide) CRDMO (Contract Research Development and Manufacturing Organization) services segment.

 

The ideal candidate will leverage their knowledge of API development and manufacturing solutions, as well as the pharmaceutical/biotech landscape to hunt for new, and nurture marketing-generated leads. By crafting targeted and tailored communications, the Lead Generation Specialist will align our small molecule, oligonucleotide, and peptide services with the specific needs of our biotech and pharma prospects. Proficiency in marketing communication and digital marketing tools, including professional social platforms, is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and generate leads: Identify potential new clients through market research, and industry-focused materials; follow up on inbound inquiries from marketing campaigns with customized, solution-driven communication aligning prospects’ pipeline and our solutions
  • Pipeline Matching: Analyze client pipelines and align our CRDMO offerings to address specific challenges in drug discovery, development, and manufacturing.
  • Digital Prowess: Utilize digital marketing tools (e.g., email marketing, CRM systems) and professional social platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, industry-specific forums) to nurture relationships and generate qualified leads.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Sales: Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to refine messaging, positioning, and campaigns, ensuring a consistent flow of communication with potential clients.
  • Data-Driven Approach: Use data and analytics to measure lead generation success, refine outreach strategies, and report on KPIs to ensure optimal ROI for marketing efforts.
  • Market Drivers: Maintain a strong understanding of current trends, technologies, and competitive activities in the biotech and pharma CRDMO sector, especially regarding small molecule, oligonucleotide, and peptide solutions.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related scientific field.
  • Industry Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience within the pharmaceutical/biotech/CDMO industry, with a focus on synthetic molecules.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to both scientific and non-scientific audiences.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in CRM tools, marketing automation platforms, and lead tracking software to manage and optimize outreach efforts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (MS or Ph.D.) in chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related scientific field.
  • Experience working with contract research or manufacturing organizations (CROs/CDMOs).
  • Experience in lead generation, marketing or sales.
  • Familiarity with current trends in drug development, especially in the small molecule, oligonucleotide, and peptide-based therapeutics space.
  • Knowledge of the biotech and pharma landscape, including key players, trends, and drug development pipelines.
