Overview

The Senior Procurement Specialist is responsible for leading strategic sourcing initiatives, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and driving measurable cost savings and value improvements. This role partners cross-functionally to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and compliant procurement of indirect materials and services in alignment with organizational goals. The Senior Procurement Specialist plays a key role in optimizing procurement processes, strengthening supplier performance, and supporting operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives (RFP/RFI/RFQ) for indirect materials, services, and assigned spending categories
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contractual agreements to achieve best total value
  • Manage the end-to-end Purchase Order process, purchase requisition accuracy and approval workflows
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods and services in coordination with internal stakeholders and suppliers
  • Analyze spending data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings or performance improvements
  • Track, validate, and report monthly cost savings and procurement KPIs
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers in collaboration with Quality Assurance and other relevant departments
  • Develop and maintain supplier scorecards and conduct quarterly business reviews with critical and underperforming suppliers
  • Contributes to the overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goals
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across functions and businesses to implement efficient intercompany purchasing practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Experience / Education       

  • Minimum 5 years of purchasing, supply chain, or relevant experience
  • Business Degree or related field equivalent experience

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills
  • Solid understanding of purchasing processes and internal controls
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred, not required)
  • Knowledge of procurement e-Tools (SAP Ariba Preferred, not required)
  • Financial acumen and budgeting knowledge
  • Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook)
