Overview

Xenobiotic Laboratories (XBL), a subsidiary of the Lab Testing Division of WuXi AppTec, Inc., is a leading contract research laboratory specializing in small and large molecule Bioanalytical, drug metabolism, and pharmacokinetic services to the pharmaceutical, animal health and agrochemical industries.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Willingness to work and learn in a fast paced environment with state of the art facilities, for pharmaceutical, environmental and related chemical discipline research.
  • Acceptance of an initial appointment for 1 year with the possibility for extension, dependent upon performance and funding availability.
  • Acceptance of working at WGQ (Shanghai, China) after about 1 year’s training.
  • Ability to advance to a position of responsibility as a study Director/Principal Investigator to design, plan and carry out experiments and associates research projects.
  • Ability to operate and /or oversee instrumentation and equipment for acquiring experimental data.
  • Assumes responsibility for technical accuracy of work and, when applicable, for the logic of the interpretation.
  • Prepares reports, oral and written, covering work objects, methods and results, which may include recommendations for further experimentation.
  • Appreciation for and understanding of Good Laboratory Practices for EPA, FDA or other Regulations pertaining to studies at WuXi.
  • Maintain and enhances technical expertise and knowledge of environmental, metabolism chemistry, and/or pharmaceutical areas, as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience / Training / Education:

  • Ph.D degree in a Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Biological discipline or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of relevant research experience, or equivalent, is desirable.

 

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

 

  • Basic knowledge of commonly used scientific concepts, practices and procedures within a biological or chemical R&D laboratory setting.
  • Highly motivated with excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Well organized, detailed oriented and adaptable to changes
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Computer skills: internet search, MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint are desirable
  • Ability to learn quickly and effectively in a dynamic laboratory environment
  • Ability to follow instructions and research plans with limited supervision
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to understand and adhere to regulatory guidelines consistent with WuXi requirements
