WuXi AppTec is seeking a Contracts Specialist with 3+ years of experience in contract review and management. The candidate will be responsible for the review, negotiation and management of commercial contracts and will work closely with senior management, business professionals and functions groups within WuXi to lead timely review and completion of a high volume of commercial contracts.


  • Review, negotiate and coordinate the execution of customer contracts and other business transaction contracts;
  • Manage and maintain contracts archive and system;
  • Provide support and guidance on the use and requirements of contracts, as required;
  • Provide support to company’s business functions on contracts.
  • Obtain feedback and recommendations for negotiating commercial contract agreements from management team, finance, legal and other function groups.
  • Support creation and maintenance of contract templates in accordance with current laws and company policies;
  • Manage and distribute contract templates and guidance documents;
  • Track status of contracts and projects and report to management on a regular basis;
  • Identify and support development of contract-related improvement plans, SOP and best practices.


  • Minimum of 3 years of direct working experience in a legal, paralegal or contract management function, preferably in pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and negotiating contracts.
  • Understanding of contractual issues, terms and practices.
  • High proficiency in legal writing; excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Skills in Mandarin are also desirable.
  • Ability to perform under tight time pressure and comply with deadlines.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and project management skills
  • Strong ability to work across different geographic regions
  • Ability to quickly learn new information, and conduct risk/benefit analysis
  • Strong skills in using Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Adobe Acrobat etc.
  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in legal studies or business studies.
  • Law degree, paralegal certification preferred.
