Overview

The Marketing Director - Testing is responsible for the development and execution of the strategic marketing plan for Testing services for our Biologics and Advanced Therapy offering, to support achievement of annual revenue plans. This strategy will be based on revenue targets, understanding customer needs, competitive pressure and WuXi AppTec’s value proposition. Coaches and develops the marketing team to ensure excellence in execution, development of best practices and measurement of tactics for continuous improvement. Works cross functionally to understand technical/operations opportunities and challenges to develop appropriate business solutions. Manages pricing; conducts analysis to set appropriate prices and annual price increases, reviews and approves special pricing with operations and finance. 

Responsibilities

  • Understand biopharmaceutical client needs through market research and client interaction for existing and future products/services
  • Plan and drive message and strategic brand evolution for current biologics and Adv Therapy services
  • Plan, develop and execute new service launch communications and strategies
  • Plan, develop and execute marketing plan for current biologics services
  • Work with Sales Director(s) on gathering market feedback and implementing the strategic plans
  • Present plans and updates to company’s senior leadership
  • Manages the marketing team, including marketing manager, market analytics manager, and other members of the Marketing team.
  • Directs the creation of Collateral materials, Advertising and Promotion
  • Directs outreach tactical plans: seminars, tradeshows, webinars, KOL discussions
  • Forecasts business revenues from marketing events, current and future sales opportunities
  • Performs special projects and other duties as required
  • Provide training opportunities and mentorship to direct reports and influences other members of the Sales & Marketing team
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of the biopharmaceutical field, testing, manufacturing and regulations.
  • Responsible for the Bio marketing cost center

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a Life Sciences Field, MBA is desired
  • Minimum 15 years’ marketing experience 
  • Solid knowledge of the CRO/CMO, pharmaceutical and/or biotech industries is required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to present to C-level executives at Biopharmaceutical companies
  • Outstanding organizational, analytical and Program and Project Management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to use judgment as dictated by complexity of situation
