Overview

The Laboratory Coordinator leads the orderly progression of projects from protocol development through project completion for radiation validations, radiation dose audits, steam sterilizations, dry time studies, industrial and hospital EO validations and antimicrobial studies.  Interacts with clients, account managers, laboratory personnel and WuXi AppTec subcontractors, and other Technical Services team members as appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Manages projects across functional areas with accountability for bringing project to fruition on time and on budget.
  • Serves as GLP Study Director for client sponsored GLP studies.
  • Maintains project documentation including records of communications, project schedules, sample chain of custody, laboratory data, results and reports.
  • Coordinates and schedules services including sterilization at subcontracting facilities.
  • Keeps clients updated in a timely manner regarding progress of project, decision points, and events through teleconferences, e-mails, site visits or other suitable means.
  • Informs internal resources of project updates ensuring timely communications.
  • Logs projects into STARLIMS and maintains correct pricing as per the executed contract.
  • Updates quotes to include any necessary changes in scope of project, ensures that testing is performed as per executed contract, and notifies Technical Services management of any scope changes to the executed contract.
  • Invoices projects as per the executed contract to ensure appropriate billing of all services.
  • Works with minimal supervision.
  • Performs some study analysis, data interpretation and reporting of results.
  • Follows written procedures while performing assignments; recognizes and reports deviations from accepted practices.
  • May be required to work some Holidays and weekends.
  • Contributes to the achievement of departmental, site and corporate goals.
  • Perform job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, and WuXi AppTec Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Adherence to Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices as applicable.
  • May be required to assist in other departments
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience, or
  • Associate’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Preferred experience in one or more of the following:  radiation validation and dose audits, steam sterilization validation, EO validations, hospital disinfectant and sterilization practices, AAMI, ASTM, AATB, or AATCC chemistry and/or microbiology testing methods.
  • Proficient in Oral & Written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts
  • High level of organizational and Project Management skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data
  • Ability to focus for long periods of time with a high attention to detail
  • Individual must thrive in a fast paced, multitasking environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently as required
  • Experience in an FDA regulated industry is preferred.
  • Need to be able to read, write and understand English
  • Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
