Overview

The Corporate Key Account Director will be responsible for managing WuXi AppTec´s relationship with our key accounts and providing leadership, expertise guidance and coordination on management of RFI, RFP and contract negotiation with our key accounts. This role is critical interface with our largest customers and also source of leadership and expertise on management of our customer´s procurement and sourcing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong working relationships with the sourcing, buyer and procurement of WuXi AppTec´s Top 20 Corporate accounts.
  • Plan on a rolling 12 month basis for key transactional milestones (e.g. contract renewal, price reviews etc).
  • Identify threats and opportunities to each Key Account, evaluate and coordinate with internal stakeholders on develop responsive tactics and strategies.
  • Build, maintain and execute quarterly and annual strategic plans for each key account. 
  • Keep Corporate and BU management and other internal stakeholders informed on all material developments in relation to corporate key accounts.
  • Coordinate responses to all cross-BU RFIs and RFPs from corporate key accounts. 
  • Be the internal expert of buying processes and procedures used by our customers including RFI, RFP, Pricing Auctions and pricing strategies.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years experience working in either: (a) buy-side sourcing or procurement of contract research services, preferably with experience working in a Top 15 Pharma; (b) a key account management role in a leading contract research services organization.
  • Extensive knowledge of procurement and pricing strategies and alliance management
  • Undergraduate degree in life science, business or finance. MBA desirable.
  • Ability to get things done by influencing and inspiring others
  • Commercial awareness, interpersonal and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to learn and maintain knowledge of process excellence processes, tools and activities.
  • Ability to think strategically.
  • Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to negotiate and liaise with stakeholders across the organization
