  • Overview

    The Corporate Key Account Sales Director will contribute to the design and execution of BD plans in close coordination with Research Services Division (RSD) leadership for identification, penetration and growth of RSD business and accounts.

    Responsibilities

    • Identify potential business prospects (leads) in region across pharma, biotech, VC, non-profits, research institutes, agricultural, and veterinary sciences
    • Identify key decision makers relative to RSD business for potential contact
    • Qualify leads and present opportunity(ies) to technical team and RSD senior leadership
    • Facilitate business meeting with WuXi (WX) with proper agenda, attendees, focus on opportunity and follow-up; meeting summary and action items
    • Project professional image of RSD as solutions provider with clearly articulated messages
    • Support proposal writing with technical team with emphasis on consistency, quality of proposal; presentation of proposal to customer
    • Support proposal negotiation to close contract as defined by supervisor 
    • Point of contact for RSD and customer; ensure communication channels; pro-actively identify areas of growth opportunity; ensure stable relationship, identify issues which could jeopardize partnership; pose solutions 
    • Effective representation of  RSD at various meetings/conferences; even planning and execution  
    • Work with senior leadership during crisis management. 
    • Maintain excellent relationships with internal business partners at WuXi. 
    • Facilitate customer travels to China

    Qualifications

    • 7+ years of relevant industry experience in drug discovery, preferentially in chemistry, biology, immunology or oncology in a leadership role giving rise to multiple preclinical candidates.
    • Extensive knowledge of procurement and pricing strategies and alliance management
    • Undergraduate degree in life science, business or finance. MBA desirable.
    • Ability to get things done by influencing and inspiring others
    • Commercial awareness, interpersonal and negotiating skills.
    • Ability to learn and maintain knowledge of process excellence processes, tools and activities.
    • Ability to think strategically.
    • Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills
    • Ability to work independently
    • Ability to negotiate and liaise with stakeholders across the organization
