Overview

Xenobiotic Laboratories (XBL), a subsidiary of the Lab Testing Division of WuXi AppTec, Inc., is a leading contract research laboratory specializing in small and large molecule Bioanalytical, drug metabolism, and pharmacokinetic services to the pharmaceutical, animal health and agrochemical industries. Xenobiotic Laboratories is seeking a Associate Scientist II (LC-MS/MS Operator) in Plainsboro, NJ.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Primarily responsible for performing highly complex scientific analyses by operating LC/MS/MS instruments for quantitative drug analyses and data review.
  • Reviews LC/MS/MS data and processing of data integration prior to release to the PI/SD.
  • Assumes responsibility for technical accuracy of work and, when applicable, for the logic of the interpretation.
  • Familiarity with Analyst, MassLynx, Watson LIMS and other Windows based software.
  • Perform routine procedures without supervision.
  • Delivers accurate results on assigned task and expected results.
  • May assume the duty of a trainer to new hires.
  • Maintains research notebooks in a well-organized manner. All necessary documentation is recorded.
  • Complies with all safety rules, practices good housekeeping, and maintains safe workplace without supervision.
  • Thorough understanding of Good Laboratory Practices and EPA, FDA, or other regulation pertaining to the study.
  • Perform routine calculations. tabulates, and records results.
  • Prepares standard solutions used in the laboratory.
  • Maintains and calibrates laboratory equipment.
  • Assumes responsibility for technical accuracy of work.
  • Learns, and  enhances technical knowledge of bioanalytical assays.
  • Assume the responsibility of the GLP compliance in a designated Laboratory (as primary or back up).
  • Maintain the records and helping in ordering specific supplies for the entire Bioanalytical Division.
  • Other duties as assigned including but not limited to preparing the final study files for archiving and scanning notebooks and the reconcillation of study samples.

Qualifications

Experience / Training / Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or a related discipline
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent
  • Any similar combination of education and experience

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Knowledge of LC-MS principles and operation
  • Ability to perform advanced lab work independently after training for Associate Scientist level II
  • Ability to follow instruction to perform required procedures
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks with efficient approach to complete the work on time with high accuracy.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within biological or chemical R&D laboratory setting
  • Well organized, detail oriented, and adaptable to changes
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Computer skills: knowledge of internet research, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Good time management skill in order to perform of multiple projects within deadlines
  • Ability to effectively prioritize workload and manage changes in direction
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Familiarity with and adherence to regulatory guidelines consistent with XBL requirements
