  • Overview

    The Warehouse and Inventory Supervisor is responsible for applying a thorough knowledge of Warehouse operations, ensure the most effective utilization of available Warehouse personnel and maintain maximum efficiency/highest quality to achieve Warehouse department objectives and goals.

    The Warehouse Supervisor will provide oversight and management of receiving, shipping, replenishment, inventory, manufacturing run materials, shipping validations, NCE initiation and management, change control management, employee management for the PHL site.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff and all internal Wuxi departmental personnel as well as existing and future shipment carriers and couriers.
    • Monitor and manage same-day receipt, replenishment, and shipping activities for assigned site
    • Responsible for all departmental NCEs and Audit responses for assigned site
    • Participate in client meetings required for the site as needed.
    • Recognize and accommodate requests from all areas of the business for assigned site.
    • Address and discuss positive and negative feedback with site employees.
    • Work with all internal Departments to solve any problems in logistics operations.
    • Collaborate with the site employees to ensure best practices are maintained.
    • Assist in developing logistics team members, helping them grow professionally as our business continues to grow.
    • Participate in and/or run departmental projects as necessary for the growth and efficiency for the site & department. 
    • Improve productivity through efficient scheduling, adherence to standard operating procedures, and implementation of new service-oriented schedules.
    • Assign work activities for the most effective utilization of staff and use of space to maintain required work flow and achieve department objectives
    • Supervise all employees reporting to the Warehouse Department to include regular hourly, temporary and group leads; Control OT to meet indirect labor targets
    • Measure, determine root cause, corrective action and eliminate all short picked jobs/incomplete jobs while ensuring products are moving to other departments with a high degree of accuracy
    • Utilize RF scanners.
    • Ensure traceability of all warehouse transactions and perform physical inventory activities as they relate to consignment inventory and end-of-year counts
    • Track/ post all weekly warehouse performance metrics for picking, stocking and inventory accuracy
    • Follow all established procedures and guidelines
    • Ensure adherence to and continuously improve cycle count program to count the optimal number of SKUs for a very high degree of inventory accuracy; (i.e. quantity, dollar, ABC code, stocker/picker and location)
    • Maintain accurate records of available material/stock in storage areas to control in-house inventories
    • Assist Group Leads in training pickers/stockers to pull orders, transfer components, cycle counts, Warehouse procedures, safe work habits and compliance with company safety rules
    • Provide assistance to employees on matters of company policies, procedures and disciplinary process
    • Maintain employee records(i.e. attendance, PTO, training)
    • Ensure a safe working environment consistent practice of safety programs and procedures
    • Accomplishes staff results by communicating updated organizational information,  job expectations & supporting their work
    • Plans, monitors, and appraises direct reports including performance competencies, goals & job results
    • Coaches, counsels, and conducts disciplinary actions
    • Develops, coordinates, and follows organizational systems, policies, procedures, and follows labor and capacity  standards
    • Contributes to the overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goals.
    • Perform job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, and WuXi AppTec Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Thorough understanding of Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices
    • Other duties as assigned
    • May be required to assist in other departments

    Qualifications

    Experience / Education   

    • 3+ years of Warehouse/Inventory Supervisory experience required
    • Proven related work experience in a performance metrics driven Warehouse/Inventory environment
    • Proven experience mentoring, coaching, supervising and training team leads and hourly production Warehouse/Inventory staff working various shifts
    • ERP experience
    • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Excel (ability to create pivot tables)
    • High level of self-initiative, dependability, and high attention to detail and accuracy
    • Ability to manage, prioritize and balance multiple tasks

    Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

    • Great Plains/SAP experience
    • Proficient in Oral & Written communication skills
    • Need to be able to read, write and understand English
    • Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook)
