  • Overview

    Xenobiotic Laboratories (XBL), a subsidiary of the Lab Testing Division of WuXi AppTec, Inc., is a leading contract research laboratory specializing in small and large molecule Bioanalytical, drug metabolism, and pharmacokinetic services to the pharmaceutical, animal health and agrochemical industries. Xenobiotic Laboratories is seeking a Technical Editor/Writer I, located in Plainsboro, NJ.

    Responsibilities

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Assists in preparing the following:Study protocols and research reports for submission to government agencies and sponsors.
    • In-house standard operating procedures (SOPs), curriculum vitae (CVs), and controlled forms while effectively informing appropriate staff of updated/new versions.
    • Assembles and prepares notebook and logbook pages required for the laboratory operations.
    • Generates PDF version of a reviewed/updated report draft (draft final report) inclusive with hyperlinks, bookmarks, working TOC, correct formatting, etc. for final review and signoff by all designated signees/final reviewers. Following report signoff, will generate the final report version inclusive with scanned signature pages, accurate final report dates, etc.
    • Edits and proofreads rough drafts received from scientists for grammar, accuracy, clarity, consistency, style, organization, and conformance to established report template formats.
    • Assembles, edits, proofreads, conducts word processing, and prepares graphics related to scientific and technical documentation.
    • Aid in the assembly of report first drafts for the Bioanalytical department.
    • Interfaces with Operations, Scientific and Management team members. Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Experience / Training / Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related discipline, or equivalent
    • 1-2 years of experience in technical publication/documentation preferred
    • Knowledge of biological and/or chemistry sciences desirable but not necessary
    • Any similar combination of education and experience

     

    Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

     

    • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within technical

           publication/editing field.              

    • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and

          deadlines.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent organizational skills and maintain a high level of accuracy and efficiency
    • Thorough working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; ability to utilize

          the Internet to find answers to work-related questions      

    • Thorough understanding of GLP and GCP
    • Ability to work and promote harmony in a team environment
    • Knowledge of cash flow, net profit margin and their impact on the company’s bottom line.
    • Overtime and weekend work as required. Work requires some standing and sitting for long

          periods of time                             

    • Follow safety procedures of the company
