  • Overview

    The Inside Sales Associate will cultivate growth of WuXi AppTec’s Advanced Therapies Business Unit Biologics Testing business by working together with the Director of Sales, and a team of global Account Managers. The role calls on highly intuitive candidates with strong communication and analytical skillsets, as the position will be central to developing tactical sales initiatives, garnering support directly from clients through traditional sales channels, as well as working with internal stakeholders within multiple business & departmental functions to maintain a foundation for effective business collaboration and enhanced customer experience. Elements of strategic planning, sales, sales-support processes, marketing & promotions will be routinely engaged in this role.

    Responsibilities

    • Understand WuXi AppTec’s Advanced Therapies’ existing business with all accounts - utilize knowledge of accounts to make informed decisions on tactical sales efforts to drive further traction, account penetration, and lead generation.
    • Aid the implementation and tracking of program- and account-level strategies and coordinates support with territory Account Managers for account growth.
    • Meet routinely with the Director of Sales and the Account Managers to ensure coordinated efforts in territory are being achieved.
    • Present existing services to clients, through web-meetings, phone, and email; with travel to local accounts, prospects, and industry trade shows as needed.
    • Coordinate timely visits to well qualified prospects with current set of accounts, per Account Manager travel schedule.
    • Maintain a system to keep track of target/prospect lists by account, functional groups, service area. Grow lists, and routinely grooms target lists for relevance – align to CRM system.
    • Support the proposal development & revision process for account management as required.
    • Assist the Request-For-Proposal/Information (RFx) process, including tracking win-loss, follow-up and performance feedback, and cataloging history.
    • Develop a level of competence, while continuing education to develop strong understanding of the drug development industry including market, service, and customer dynamics.  
    • Coordinate and participate with internal quality, operational, and technical stakeholders, as needed, to assist program support, including coordinating client discussion support, technical input on proposal development, etc.
    • Maintain a system to track and trigger follow-up to prospecting efforts, and opportunities in progress, for gathering client feedback and expediting client decisions.
    • Aid review and the tracking of account or service-level trends, identifying gaps and potential areas of opportunity.
    • Complete administrative / documentation (i.e. activity & opportunity reports, and expense reports) in a timely manner.
    • Perform job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, and WuXi AppTec Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Other duties as assigned.  

    Qualifications

    Experience / Education:

     

    • BA/BS in Business, or a degree Bio/Biomedical Sciences.
    • Minimum 3+ years of experience working for a company in the life sciences, biotechnology, or CRO/CMO industry is preferred.
    • Life science or preclinical research experience along with successful project management, client support, sales, territory management or business development experience preferred.
