  • Overview

     Performs facilities duties according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Industry Standards.  Assist the Facilities Manager with overall maintenance of the building.


    • Complete weekly and monthly and annual PMs of equipment and building
    • Organize and perform maintenance requests and work orders
    • Conduct troubleshooting and repairs as needed on Facilities equipment
    • Operate electric boiler and trouble shoot Autoclaves systems
    • Operate water systems and waste systems
    • Support office and equipment moves
    • Support building and lab infrastructure
    • Work off hours and over time when necessary
    • Ensure HVAC systems and boilers are operating properly and holding critical areas in specification
    • Lead small projects as assigned including build-outs, validations, system upgrades, etc.
    • Have critical parts identified and on hand to minimize down time of HVAC systems and boilers
    • Maintain positive effective relationships with vendors, coworkers and both internal and external customers.
    • Possess the applicable licensure to take charge of and be responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of all facilities boilers per MN code. (Class C preferable)
    • Ensure all mechanical/electrical equipment supporting the facility is maintained and functioning properly and make necessary repairs and/or perform maintenance, i.e., HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, generators, etc.
    • Ability to understand, operate and maintain Business Management System (BMS)
    • Ability to respond to emergency alarms and events during off business hours, including weekends and holidays


    • High School Diploma and technical certification.  Also, must obtain boiler license
    • HVAC (including troubleshooting, repair, & filter changes) along with belts, and pulleys
    • Electrical (including installs, troubleshooting, and repairs on outlets, lighting and ballast, motors, timers, heat controllers, running new cables and power lines to labs and rooms)
    • Plumbing - stainless steel tubing lines install and replace, also regulators and valves
    • Technical Certification (Electrical, Plumbing, or HVAC/R)
    • Ability to troubleshoot various equipment and conduct building repairs
    • Ability to squat, crawl, and climb ladders
    • Lift 50lbs
