  • Overview

    The marketing and events manager serves as a key member of the marketing team. This individual is the principal architect of execution for trade shows, conference and events for WuXi AppTec Laboratory Testing Division in addition to assisting the marketing team in the execution of the marketing plan. The ideal candidate will help maintain relationships with external vendors, serve as project manager for the tradeshow/events/conferences, and assist the Product Manager in execution of marketing strategies that effectively speak to WuXi AppTec’s target market.



    • Plans and manages all contracts, communication, planning, logistics, and execution of attendance at conferences, tradeshows and events
    • Evaluates and provides recommendations for events, including recommended sponsorship and speaking opportunities
    • Maintains a calendar of events and creates timelines for deliverables
    • Coordinates event project requests and ensures that tasks are communicated effectively to Product Manager and/or appropriate marketing staff
    • Manages lead generation process before, during, and after each show in coordination with the Marketing and Sales team members to drive the ROI and achieve financial goals
    • Works closely with the Sales team on planning and implementing customer meetings and receptions at tradeshows and events
    • Provides recommendations on which staff should attend events based on potential impact, and establishes schedule for booth coverage when possible
    • Serves as liaison with representatives from conference and all associated vendors
    • Collect and Analyze Competitive intelligence at tradeshows and conferences



    • Assists in development and distribution of marketing material to be used in account-based marketing, including newsletters, print collateral, advertisements, and the website
    • Assists with the development and execution of the marketing plan
    • Works closely with digital marketing manager and sales teams to generate leads through marketing programs
    • Assists with social media and email marketing efforts for the department
    • Assists in researching and understanding target market companies and develops recommendations on how to engage them effectively


    Position Qualifications:


    • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in marketing, communications or life science required
    • Experience in trade show coordination is preferred.
    • Understanding the importance of corporate branding is essential.
    • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong attention to details.
    • Ability to multi-task, balance competing priorities, and make decisions quickly
    • Experience with working with strict deadlines
    • Effective communication skills with excellent interpersonal skills
    • Flexibility with hours (e.g. weekends, evenings)
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office software suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Familiarity with CRM, inbound marketing, social media marketing tools/programs a plus.
    • 10-15% travel across the US will be required.
