  • Overview

    Performs laboratory assays that demand a professional application of the principles, theories, and techniques of cell culture and media preparation.


    • Performs assays and proper documentation
    • Performs daily monitoring and cleaning of equipment and applicable facilities.
    • Prepares in house media and reagents.
    • Understands and performs the following laboratory techniques: aseptic technique, light and fluorescent microscopy and reagent preparation.
    • Organizes laboratory supply, media and reagent shipments
    • Perform Ames assays independently
    • Perform Chromosome Aberration, Mouse Lymphoma and Mouse Micronucleus assays in conjunction with senior staff
    • Maintain and prepare mammalian cell cultures according to WuXi AppTec Standard Operating Procedures
    • Maintain laboratory equipment and facilities according to GMP/GLP regulations and WuXi AppTec Standard Operating Procedures
    • Understand the proper and safe use of hazardous chemicals
    • Understand the proper and safe handling of potentially pathogenic materials
    • Share basic laboratory duties such as stocking supplies, media preparation, equipment cleaning, and laboratory cleaning.
    • Track media inventory and coordinates media production.


    Education and Experience:

    • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in biology, microbiology, or a scientific field.
    • Experience working in a regulated environment (GLP/GMP) preferred.
    • Hands-on experience working in a laboratory practicing aseptic technique preferred.


    Abilities and Skills:

    • Must be able to distinguish between colors.
    • Must be able work with latex.
    • Must be able to work with sterilant/disinfectant products (isopropyl alcohol, bleach).
    • Must be a driven individual who embraces change and challenge.
    • Proven ability to maintain a high attention to detail.
    • Be able to lift 50 lbs.
    • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to work overtime and/or holidays as needed.
    • Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
