  • Overview

    This position is at STA Pharmaceutical US LLC. STA Pharmaceutical US LLC, a WuXi AppTec Company, is a contract development and manufacturing organization focused on providing high quality GMP synthesis and early phase formulation services for small molecule projects to the biopharmaceutical industry. The candidate will work on the development and manufacture of clinical formulations for Ph1/2 for oral dosage forms.

    Responsibilities

    • Encapsulation (Xceledose, semi-/automatic and manual fillers)
    • Solubility and dissolution assays
    • Physical form screening and analysis
    • Chemical and physical stability studies
    • Preparation of reports and protocols for sharing with clients
    • Equipment maintenance and lab organization

     

    Qualifications

    The candidate will have experience in on-bench pre-/formulation work including encapsulation. CMO/CRO experience and knowledge of GMP and regulatory requirements is beneficial.

    Technical Skills / Knowledge:

    • Direct hands on experience with formulation development (pre- or clinical stage), solid-state chemistry or analytical chemistry laboratory
    • Proficient with analytical instruments such as: HPLC/UPLC, microscopy, DSC, TGA, DVS, IR, PXRD, and SEM
    • Knowledge of biopharmaceutics (PK, permeability, LogP, etc) is highly desirable

     

    Independence/ Accountability:

     

    • Be an active contributor to a cross-functional team
    • Demonstrated success working effectively outside typical procedures when required.
    • Have a bias for action and display a sense of urgency.

     

    Problem Solving:

     

    • Provide technical and trouble-shooting support for drug substance characterization and selection activities.

     

     

    Leadership Activities:

    • Aide fellow associates in performing laboratory based activities and help foster sense of teamwork.
    • Consistently promote higher levels of performance and job satisfaction.

     

    Communication Skills:

    • Provide regular updates, documentation and communication of preformulation results to clients and development team.
    • Collate and present results in various forms, such as, technical reports and oral presentations.

     

     

    Customary Education and Experience:

    MS in physical pharmacy, analytical chemistry or related field with 2+ years of relevant experience, or BS with 5+ years of relevant experience
