  • Overview

    The Account Manager  uncovers and cultivates business opportunities to generate revenue predominately via phone contact with potential and existing clients. They also assist account managers with follow up on critical issues to complete quotes and enhance positive customer experiences.

    Responsibilities

    • Assists Key Account and Business Development Managers with their business to grow revenue.
    • Presents existing services to potential and existing clients, primarily through phone, Skype and/or web meetings.
    • Coordinates and participates with the internal staff as needed to assist client’s decision making process of their testing plans, including conference calls, emails and other forms of communication.
    • Collects and disseminates information from clients internally and within the company to provide timely quotes.
    • Follows up on quotations sent for purposes of both gathering client feedback and expediting client decisions.
    • Manages projects through the testing process as needed and solves any client situations.
    • Provides assistance to account receivable as needed to solve invoicing issues or over-due payments.
    • Meets with Account Manager to ensure coordinated efforts in territory are being achieved and coordinates timely visits to well qualified accounts with current projects for the Account Manager.
    • Prospects for new accounts and business, which would benefit from WuXi services.
    • Attends trade shows and sales meetings as required.
    • Completes paper work, (i.e. flashes, quote requests, and expense reports) in a timely manner.
    • Normally receives minimal instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments.
    • Maybe required to work Holidays and weekends.
    • Contributes to the overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goals.
    • Performs job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, and WuXi AppTec Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
    • Minimum 2 years of prior inside sales experience.
    • Understanding of the biologics CRO industry preferred.
    • Strong Project Management skills
    • Client Service skills
    • Skilled in data analysis and ability to interpret complex market/sales data to propose solutions
    • Life science or preclinical research experience along with successful project management, client support, sales, territory management or business development experience preferred
    • Experience with CRM tools (SalesForce and/or Microsoft Dynamics/CRM) preferred
    • Must have the ability to influence stakeholders that do not report directly to you
    • Must be organized and detailed-oriented
    • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure
    • Demonstrated success at managing multiple opportunities, time lines and projects simultaneously
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and to exhibit effective interpersonal skills
    • Ability to receive and comprehend and to effectively communicate detailed information through verbal and written communication.
    • Ability to accurately and reproducibly perform basic arithmetic calculations and statistics
    • Ability to work in a team environment and independently as required.
    • Need to be able to read, write and understand English
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
    • Travel is required < 10%
