    Xenobiotic Laboratories (XBL), a subsidiary of the Lab Testing Division of WuXi AppTec, Inc., is a leading contract research laboratory specializing in small molecule bioanalytical, drug metabolism, and pharmacokinetic services to the pharmaceutical, animal health and agrochemical industries.  XBL is seeking an Archivist  for their  Administration Department located in Plainsboro, NJ. 



    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Maintains overall responsibility for XBL archives.
    • Provides input to management concerning archive issues.
    • Organizes and verifies original data for archiving.
    • Photocopies (or scans) as requested, collates, and checks pagination of raw data.
    • Submits original raw data to sponsor with cover letter and list of documents for verification.
    • Assigns archive numbers; logs study and archive numbers into computer database.
    • Updates and maintains archive index database.
    • Maintains archive files under optimum storage conditions to preserve their integrity.
    • Maintains, stores, and retrieves archived documents as requested by QAU personnel or management.
    • Maintains security of data by ensuring that any records or documents taken from archived files are returned.
    • Oversees the duties of the Sample Archivist function, ensuring that:

      the sample archivist coordinates with study personnel and the Quality Assurance Unit (QAU) in determining archiving requirements for specific chemicals/specimens.

      records related to archived chemicals and specimens, including related archive index, are maintained.

      archived chemicals and specimens are stored and maintained under optimum storage conditions to minimize deterioration.

      access to chemical and specimens archives is restricted and that any items removed from the designated archive area are returned and/or accounted for.

    • Other administrative duties as assigned.





    Experience / Training / Education:

    • High School Diploma required; Associate’s or other college degree preferred
    • 4-5 years experience in an office environment with a broad range of administrative experience
    • 1-2 years of experience in a GLP environment desirable
    • Any similar combination of education and experience


    Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

    • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within office administration
    • Effective oral and written communication skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong attention to detail
    • Computer skills: working knowledge of Internet, MS Word, Excel, Outlook preferred
    • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds required
    • Ability to work under pressure of multiple projects and deadlines
    • Ability to effectively prioritize workload and manage changes in direction
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Familiarity with and adherence to regulatory guidelines consistent with XBL requirements
