  • Overview

    The Master Scheduler for Testing Operations is responsible for creating, executing, and managing the testing operations scheduling system.  They will serve as the point of contact for scheduling and forecasting of testing validations, qualifications and routine testing with Sales, Client Delivery, Analytical Development and Manufacturing Operations.  The Master Scheduler will work closely with the laboratories to plan and schedule testing for internal manufacturing programs and external client work.  They also will support Supply Chain with demand planning for lab supplies, critical reagents, reserve materials and capital equipment in support of testing operations. 


    • Develop and implement best scheduling practices for work planned in testing operations.
    • Responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring testing schedules with the laboratory Management
    • Utilize capacity, lead times and historical performance data to create schedules, collaborating with Testing Operations and Supply Chain to ensure streamlined operations.
    • Conducts demand flow for new programs.
    • Evaluate and determine estimated equipment set-ups, cycle times, and Capacity.
    • They may also serve as a liaison between customer service personnel and purchasing on the scheduling of raw material purchases.
    • Serve as liaison between Sales, Client delivery, Analytical Development and Manufacturing for Scheduling
    • Serves as a liason for Supply Chain in planning purchasing on the scheduling of raw material purchases.
    • Collaborate with information technology personnel to analyze and create enhanced functionality in applications as needed
    • Interface with organizational stakeholders to better understand business goals and revise schedules as needed.
    • Work with Supply Chain to update the min/max order targets for materials as appropriate.
    • Work with lab management and their staff to develop scheduling processes.
    • Develop and maintain metrics related to scheduling performance. Report performance on a not less than weekly basis to above management, as well as key customers within the labs (e.g., lab management).
    • Actively participate in continuous improvement opportunities
    • Ability to work in a team environment and, independently is mandatory.
    • Other duties as assigned by Testing Operations.



    Experience / Education   

    • 3-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent
    • Bachelors’ degree in Science, Engineering or other related field or equivalent experience


    Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

    •  Excellent planning and project management abilities.
    • Must be able to evaluate and integrate testing factors such as lead times and manage multiple schedules.
    • Strong technical skills
    • Lean / Six Sigma Experience
    • Strong interpersonal skills to interface with Cross-Functional Teams
    • GMP/GLP experience
    • Consistently delivers on commitments
    • Strong analytical, computer and organizational skills
    • Innovative self-starter, goals and task oriented with a bias for action
    • Time management & multi-tasking ability
    • Demonstrated problem solving skills
    • Excellent presentation skills, written and oral
    • Proficient in Oral & Written communication skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook)
