  • Overview

    Serves as a key technical expert with the sales team and senior management for clients, prospective clients and internal groups. Prepares biological evaluations and other scientific opinion reports.

    Responsibilities

    • Provides operational support for consulting activities including the following:
      • Provides consulting to clients, including risk assessments and other expert opinion papers
      • Travels with Account managers to customer site sales calls
      • Independently works as a technical expert in toxicology for medical devices, biologics and/or biopharma services
      • Responds to regulatory agency requests or represents clients during regulatory agency meetings with little or no supervision
      • Develops and delivers technical presentations for internal and external company seminars and training, webinars, etc.
    • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the medical device field, testing and regulations.
    • Ability to work in a team environment and independently as required
    • Contributes to the overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goals
    • Perform job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, and WuXi AppTec Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Thorough understanding of Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices
    • Other duties as assigned
    • May be required to assist in other departments

    Qualifications

    Experience / Education   

    • Min.10 years of relevant experience or equivalent
    • PhD or MSc in toxicology, pharmacology, microbiology, biological sciences, or related field. Experience may be substituted for education (e.g., Bachelor’s in biological sciences plus 10 or more years of relevant experience); DABT preferred

     

    Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

    • Proficient in Oral & Written communication skills
    • Need to be able to read, write and understand English
    • Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook)
    • Basic toxicology and biocompatibility experience
    • Solid knowledge of the CRO, medical device and/or pharmaceutical & biotech industries is required
    • Travel is required (up to 10%) , Domestic/International, Daily / Overnight

     

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to work in an office environment with minimal noise conditions.
    • Ability to Sit for long periods of time
    • Clarity of Sight
    • Inside working conditions
