    Xenobiotic Laboratories (XBL), a subsidiary of the Lab Testing Division of WuXi AppTec, Inc., is a leading contract research laboratory specializing in small molecule bioanalytical, drug metabolism, and pharmacokinetic services to the pharmaceutical, animal health and agrochemical industries.  XBL is seeking a Director of Method Development & Technologu  for their Bioanalytical Department located in Plainsboro, NJ. 



    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Maintains XBL mass spectrometry facility at state-of-the-art level.
    • Provides recommendations to management on procurement of equipment and materials.
    • Provides input to management concerning mass spectrometry issues.
    • Conducts LC/MS bioanalytical related studies and duties:
      • Plan, schedules, and coordinates studies with department head, staff, and sponsors.
      • Implements Good Laboratory Practices and other pertinent regulatory requirements as called for by study protocols.
      • Develops, improves, and validates LC/MS bioanalytical methods according to the most up-to-date FDA Guidance.
      • Maintains, calibrates, and troubleshoots LC/MS instrumentation.
      • Assists staff in working with LC/MS related projects.
      • Manages, archives, and maintains all data generated from LC/MS operation.
      • Functions as expert MS consultant to staff, management, and clients.
      • Presents summaries of work to peers, management, and clients.
        • Other duties as assigned.




    Experience / Training / Education:

    • D. in chemistry or related fields, or equivalent
    • 5-7 years of hands-on industrial experience with LC/MS operations in a GLP facility, or equivalent
    • Any similar combination of education and experience


    Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

    • Expert working knowledge in mass spectrometry with ability to conduct challenging studies under limited supervision
    • Knowledge of commonly used scientific concepts, practices, and procedures within the pharmaceutical R&D field
    • Ability to research and evaluate data and research results
    • Well organized, detail oriented, and adaptable to changes
    • Effective oral and written communication skills
    • Effective interpersonal skills
    • Computer skills: knowledge of internet research, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
    • Ability to work under pressure of multiple projects and deadlines
    • Ability to effectively prioritize workload and manage changes in direction
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Familiarity with and adherence to regulatory guidelines consistent with XBL requirements
