  • Overview

    WuXi AppTec and the Mayo Clinic have created a joint venture to co-develop and deliver clinical diagnostic services in China. The new entity will accelerate the development of novel esoteric tests that both organizations will offer in their respective markets. The intent is to benefit patients around the world.  Come join us as we grow this new division in Rochester!

    Responsibilities

    • Thorough understanding of the study and method,  with the ability totroubleshoots unexpected results.
    • Adhere to and understands the importance of Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Laboratory Practices, and standard operating procedures, including Good Documentation Practices (GLP / GMP / GDP).
    • Have a working knowledge of the regulatory compliance requirements for the testing of biologics.
    • Work on routine assignments per written procedures, as well as assignments that are very complex in nature where independent action and a high degree of initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations. Work with minimal supervision from supervisor.
    • Create testing documents and performs revisions to existing documents.
    • Contribute to the achievement of company and departmental goals and objectives
    • Work closely with internal and external personnel on performing all Standard Operating Procedures and revisions. Records as needed to accurately reflect testing procedures.
    • Possess sound scientific knowledge and understanding of molecular testing assays, Immune assays or Protein Chemistry and uses this skill set to routinely monitor testing processes and recognize potential process issues as they arise.
    • Provide operational support for testing activities including reagent preparation, cleaning activities, and equipment maintenance.
    • Provide training and operational guidance to junior staff and also serves to mentor junior staff.
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

     

    • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent
    • Bachelor’s degree with major in Biology, Chemistry, or related Science major
    • Relevant prior work experience with molecular test techniques, Immunoassays, or protein mass spectrometry and proteomics
    • Demonstrate innovative technical knowledge and significantly contributes to the overall production efficiency.
    • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills and actively contributes to training, report generation and documentation.
    • Experience with handling of clinical samples
    • Ability to work in a team environment and independently as required
    • Ability to work under limited supervision and to handle problems of a more difficult nature
    • Proficient in Oral & Written communication skills
