Senior Manager Procurement

The Procurement Senior Manager is responsible to manage and motivate a team to deliver on the Procurement vision and strategy by performing strategic Procurement activities within their respective area, maintaining compliance to our SOPs and processes, ensuring accuracy of our metrics and reporting, ensuring proper training amongst their team, and drive innovation in Procurement. They will also be a champion for Procurement to strengthen communication with internal and external stakeholders and drive supplier performance management.


  • Oversees, motivates, and reviews operations for assigned staff, including responsibility for training, managing and evaluating, as well as coordinating, scheduling and assigning work to maintain WuXi standards.
  • Supplier Management including supplier selection (RFPs), contract & cost negotiation, leveraging supplier R&D capabilities effectively, delivery and quality issue resolution, quarterly business reviews, etc. This aspect of the role also includes managing a portfolio of suppliers and developing strategies for determining and best utilizing a most appropriate set of suppliers.
  • Ensures strong collaboration with Logistics and Planning teams in order to ensure on time/in full delivery of materials and services.
  • Collaborate and communicate with internal and external partners in order to build and strengthen relationships as well as manage issue resolution.
  • Support and Drive business review meetings with key suppliers as well as ensure proper tracking of Scorecard metrics with each.
  • Responsible to maintain and drive their respective category within Procurement in order to monitor, track and adapt to the needs of the Business.
  • Review Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) related to job duties and maintains any modifications or additions.
  • Drive Innovative Business Improvements.  Develops new insights into solutions that result in organizational or process improvements; promotes a work environment that fosters creative thinking, innovation and rational risk-taking.
  • Accomplishes staff results by communicating updated organizational information,  job expectations & supporting their work
  • Plans, monitors, and appraises direct reports including performance competencies, goals & job results
  • Coaches, counsels, and conducts disciplinary actions
  • Develops, coordinates, and follows  organizational systems, policies, procedures, and follows labor and capacity  standards
  • Other duties as assigned


Experience / Education   

  • Minimum 6 – 8 years of Procurement/Supply Chain Management or relevant experience
  • Minimum 3 years in a Lead/Leadership/Supervisory Role
  • Bachelors’ degree in Supply Chain operations, Procurement or related business fields preferred.

  • Strong Vendor management & ability to manage cross functional relationships
  • Reporting and analytics skills
  • Project management a must and ability to self-prioritize
  • Regulatory knowledge and adherence
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Strong knowledge on contracting & negotiating
  • SAP Business one or other ERP system platforms
  • Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook)
