Overview

Responsible for driving sales growth for the Lab Testing Division (LTD) Chemical Characterization Center of Excellence supporting extractables / leachables testing in the biotech and pharmaceutical market.

This BDD/sales role will serve as the primary commercial point of contact for new business to expand market share growth in an undeveloped market. This is a remote position in the US with travel expectations as needed to meet with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Source, close and support Chemistry services RFQs with existing and new clients in the biotech and pharmaceutical market to meet quarterly and annual sales goals.
  • Identify and prioritize highest growth potential customer targets.
  • Deliver sales activity objectives through regular customer engagement and disciplined use of CRM to track progress.
  • Collaborate with marketing & SME colleagues to expand awareness and sales growth.
  • Develop enhanced sales plan leading to further growth and sales team expansion.

Qualifications

Experience / Education

  • Minimum 7 years of experience acquiring and developing key accounts in CRO, Pharma, Biotech or Medical Device markets.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field, Business or other relevant field of study.
  • Demonstrated experience achieving sales goals through a balance of independent and collaborative approaches.
  • Demonstrated experience managing an assigned territory, selling multiple opportunities and projects simultaneously.
  • Previous work experience with a CRO is beneficial.

 

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Proficient Verbal & Written communication skills in English
  • Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Technical Skills/Knowledge:

  • Demonstrates knowledge in chemistry testing services offered by the LTD of Wuxi AppTec
  • Ability to represent the company and its business interests with identified Pharma & Biotech stakeholders and decision makers, key opinion leaders.
  • Demonstrates understanding of market-specific environments including trends, regulatory frameworks and legal boundaries, competitive landscapes, influential industry societies, etc.
  • Strong analytical ability, CRO/CDMO testing knowledge

Business Development/Sales Skills

  • Demonstrated competitive attitude supported with high integrity.
  • Independent “self-starter” who can thrive in an environment with some ambiguity
  • Leverages a proven track record of closing deals and building client relationships at high levels
  • Comfortable addressing customer challenges and finding solutions
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Need for both “hunter and farmer” sales skills with more emphasis on hunting

 

Physical Requirements:         

  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to crouch, bend, twist, and reach
  • Ability to travel via plane or train with the occasional overnight stay.
